Business & Commercial Development Manager
Job Description
Drive market positioning, partnerships and customer development for TR2 solutions. You will translate technical innovation into commercial opportunities and growth.
This role sits at the intersection of technology and business. You will identify market opportunities for our AI, sensing and space-derived products, develop go-to-market strategies and build relationships with key stakeholders across defence, industrial and institutional sectors.
We are looking for someone who understands deep tech and can communicate its value to decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial strategies for AI-driven sensing and space technology solutions
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities across defence, industrial, environmental and space sectors
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospects, partnerships and commercial agreements
- Prepare commercial proposals, pricing models and partnership frameworks
- Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs and institutional meetings
- Collaborate closely with the technical team to align product capabilities with market needs
- Manage CRM tools and maintain accurate sales forecasting
- Support the CEO in investor relations and strategic planning
Must-have Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, sales or commercial roles in technology/deep-tech sectors
- Understanding of B2B sales cycles in institutional and defence markets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (C1+); Italian required
- Ability to understand and articulate complex technical value propositions
- Experience with CRM tools and structured sales processes
- Willingness to travel for events and client meetings (EU-wide)
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience in space, defence or dual-use technology commercialisation
- Network of contacts in institutional procurement (ESA, EDA, NATO, national MoDs)
- Background in engineering, physics or technology management
- Knowledge of EU procurement frameworks and public tender processes
- Experience with spin-off or technology transfer programmes
